May barriers be shaken and tumbled down.

Today is the last day of my school based experience at SMK Sultanah Engku Tun Aminah. Time flies. I've to write reflections and sum up my portfolio. But here i am, typing out what's on my mind but not on microsoft words for some things are not meant to be printed out for supervision. anyway, the lesson i learnt throughout this week would be that every is a unique creation of God.

We might have negative perception of someone. and our reactions towards that one particular incident or that person might be 'unsightful'. what i'm trying to say, if we think we can have the right to be angry, sad, happy or grateful of someone; then ohter person, do have the authority to hurt, despise, enjoy or feel annoyed of your presence. i don't know you get what im trying to express here, the simple key falls back to that we have our own perception. i might think your idea is not good, as u might think mine is irresponsible. i might think u are being pessimistic, as u might think i have an attitude problem. but whatever thinking or different perception each of us have, we should respect each other's opinion and by all means, not hurting each other's feelings. yes, when it comes to females, especially pms, emotions play a big role in determining what is being said.

For that, i would like to pray that all barriers will be shacken n tumbled down; where fresh roses, sunflowers and water lilies will grow up healthy and radiant under the basking sunlight of yet another wonderful creation of our Almighty God.

Peace be with you all (^_^)

Vote, why wait?

Volunteering at Tebrau City, August 2010 (^_^)

Persuasive Speech: Vote, why wait?

"The Government is useless, there is nothing they can do to make our lives better, the rising prices, the unemployment, the escalating crime rate…they have no answers", said Mike. "Well, if you are really concerned about all these things, you should have voted Mikey!", said John. "May be a better candidate would have won, and may be he would have taken some effective measures for improvement…Unless you vote you just can’t blame the government, because you have failed your duties!"

Good morning Ladies and Gentlemen,

Welcome to our Registration for Voting Booth at Tebrau City. I hope you can spare 3-minutes off your shopping time to listen and be persuaded to register for your right to vote. Have you registered? Yes? Thank you, you do us proud! Kindly invite your friends and family who have yet to register to drop by our booth as we are students who volunteer part time to assist in this campaign only for today. Not yet register? Good, you are at the right place at the right time and are going to do the right thing!

This registration will only take 3 minutes. Please give the volunteers your I.C. and they will pass it to the SRP officers over there for on-the-spot registration. Thank you. For those who are still hesitant, do make your decision after you listen to my brief sharing on why we, as citizens of Malaysia should vote.

Ladies and gentlemen,

Voting connects citizens with their political process. It helps choose our leaders, especially leaders who share our views or those who may inspire us. This registration campaign is not held by any specific parties but volunteers. Our aim is simple: To tell the public that the simple act of marking a ballot tells our leaders what we think about decisions that affect our lives. An example would be how much taxation we think is fair or what issues, such as health care or the environment, we think are most important for our beloved Malaysia, and our future generation.

Also, voting connects us to one another as citizens. By taking part in an election and by expressing our point of view, we help our democracy work. By agreeing or disagreeing with our leaders who show that the political system can accept differing points of views and can resolve them.

If you still are not convinced, let me assure you that voting helps to safeguard our freedoms. A democratic community can only survive if its citizens see participation in the political process as a duty and a responsibility. By voting, each citizen participates in a process that might lead to other forms of involvement, such as working for a political party or even running for election.

My respected Malaysians,

If you are one of those people who still think that voting is a waste of time and keep on complaining about how the government is a complete failure; then, this is the right time you realize the importance of voting, and do your bit towards enhancing the government functioning!

Voting ensures that your opinions are taken into account while appointing the person who holds the reins of power. People who are elected have the power to formulate educational policies which are instrumental in shaping the future of children and hence the future of the nation itself. Yes, the future of our children and the nation is in your hands!

Health care, highways, jobs, taxes or even food, the elected representatives have the power to take decisions over some of the most vital issues in our life! So would you be comfortable in letting ‘just anybody’ take over these powers, without exercising your right to vote? Voting, Voting is one of the fundamental processes, which is instrumental in the development of a healthy democracy.

Our next election is approaching, though the exact dates are yet to be announced, try to think of the people who are living under tyrannical dictatorships or are under curfews and cannot exercise their right to opinion. Your right to vote is your right to expression and opinion. DO NOT take your right for granted. Try and appreciate the power of voting by exercising it now!

Ladies and gentlemen,

I hope you are now convinced to take the simple and vital step to register for voting rights today, now, this instant. Thank you for your time and support. Feel free to drop by our booth if you have further enquiries. May God bless our nation!
