Since last week, I've been waking up in the middle of the night. Apart from the rare burning midnight oil back in Uni life, I can't recall developing sleeping disorders. Is something bothering my sleep? What is it...
Btw, I drafted a blog entry regarding my first Hash House Harriers Seranao Hike yesterday. Tried to publish 5 times, but due to poor Internet connection, I deleted it, not really satisfied with that piece anyway.
( The Hash House Harriers (abbreviated to HHH, H3, or referred to simply as Hashing) is an international group of non-competitive running, social and drinking clubs. An event organized by a club is known as a Hash or Hash Run, with participants calling themselves Hashers or Hares and Hounds. - wikipedia
Overall, it was a memorable experience; observing how uncles and aunties (oldest participant, age 70, from Kuching) enjoyed the 3hours hike, free flow of Heineken, and their *xxxx* songs. Sorry left knee, I left a small piece of flesh in the jungle. Can you recall when's the last time you fell and injured yourself? I do. During my ROS at JB. Like yesterday, I fell awkwardly and laughed while picking myself up. Haha!
Mom was so worried when I told her about the death of a teacher who was infected by the Rat Urine Disease at the waterfall few months back. She advised me not to join those dangerous sports. I've no idea since when I developed the interest in outdoor sports. Honestly, I'm not good in any of the sports. I love to swim but I never won a medal. I enjoy playing badminton but I don't see improvement in my skills. As for hiking, I would ALWAYS question myself 'Why don't I just stay home, under the comforters instead of wearing myself out by dirtying my hands' every time I was catching my breath. BUT, after every climb, I would be looking forward to the next climb.
Hm...wonder if guys really like girls who are out going. Perhaps I should ask my ex if my playfulness is one of the reason of...
If I'm a man, I'd hope my wife would be someone who prepares meals and waits for me to come home from work; instead of having her injured and mixing with guys.
Nevertheless, I think I won't give up my hobby which makes me happy. Sorry mom, I promise to be careful and the wound is healing, don't worry. Hiking gives me a sense of accomplishment and one will be awed by what Mother Nature has in store to please your eyes along the way. Personally, I think hiking is one the romantic-activity-to-do with your spouse. Are you willing to wait for her? I've witnessed a guy left who left his gf behind just to win the title of being the first to reach the peak. It's a jungle! Not Mid Valley! Well, his reward was cold shoulders by his gf at the end of the climb, and a few 'teguran' from friends. I don't remember them hiking anymore after that incident 3 years ago. The good news is, they are happily married with a baby now =D
