Why compare?

You need to stop comparing yourself to other people.
Some people are great singers, some are really smart and others are great athletes. But none of them are, or ever could be you. You are one of a kind. So stop comparing yourself to other people. You can't be them any more than they can be you.

3 weeks ago, Pastor Wan Ning shared the similar sermon: not only should you not compare to others, you shouldn't compare to previous you. I agree to a certain extend. It can be quite tiring if we've been outstanding all the while and when suddenly, things get out of hand, a failed experiment or a failed classroom lesson, we might be easily defeated. Just a reminder for self and you, stop comparing. Below are the notes I took down the other day:

1.   Haggai 2:1-9 ".....Work, for I am with you, declares the LORD of hosts, according to the covenant that I made with you when you came out of Egypt. My spirit remains in your midst.  Fear not. ...... And I will shake all nations, so that the treasures of all nations shall come in, and I will fill this house with glory, says the LORD of hosts. ... And in this place I will give peace, declares the LORD of hosts."

2.  Don't compare, don't worry.  Because when you compare, you'll fear and fear will halt you from moving forward.

3. As a christian, we need not doubt our ability to achieve or to let go of something.

4. Allocate 10 minutes for Internet (check your mails/fb etc), don't waste your youth on unnecessary things.

5.  Take a step at a time to cultivate glorifying habits.

6.  See not, hear not things that are not glorifying.

7. When you are in a dilemma, choose the option that brings you peace. \(^_^)/

8. Turn back and count your blessings.  Start afresh. Reserve the most important place in your heart for God and holy spirit.

Good day all~!

  1. I wish I could go to church. I can only understand sermons in English so it's hard for me to find a place in either Song, Kapit or even Sibu.
It's been 4 years. 4 years too long.

    1. Well, I'll attend that service when I'm in Kapit then.
I know very basic Iban. Probably not enough to discuss or understand the abstract explanations of theology. I'm not interested in joining CFs for children.
